To start with, I've longed for a highly-skilled expert of an FMA maestro for decades.
Last january, i was fortunate enough to get to Peter Lewis' website, anxiously sent an email and the rest is (past-present-future) history... |

I have not had the fortune to train with GM Yuli Yet! but I have crossed his path a couple of times. The first was in the in Luneta Park in 1992 when he was walking over to our group who were training for the up and comming WEKAF worlds, he probably did not notice me at the time but I was there , Next I say him with his scary Dance in the Sayaw (Forms) event at the said WEKAF event. Great form, and very scary, I actually said to one of my team mates at the time "if he ever comes running out of the jungle at you swining his bolo RUUUUUUUUUUN!
It was not until some years later we finally crossed paths again at the World Arnis Alliance Championships held at Camp Crem (SP?) in Manila, we stood outside laughing and sharing stories. Did I get to train with him, no, sorry GM Yuli but as you know I was pressed for time and tied up with the team members, but next time, well who knows.
He has always impressed me and after seeing his DVD which I highley recommend by the way, I am even more impressed.
Who would of thought that 14 years after 1st meeting if only for a short time I would be working with one of his top people Peter Lewis. Strange how things happen eh! Peter.
Must get back to my dance lessons now Peter
Best regards

Kamusta Ka....I am new to the forum and I felt that this would be a great topic for my first post. I have yet to meet or train with GM Romo but I just had a very lengthy phone conversation with him discussing my coming to the P.I. in October to train with him for a month or so. I have been training in Martial Arts for 24 + years, the last 10 dedicated to South East Asian (Silat's) and Filipino (Pekititersia) Non-ACTIVE. Within a 40 minute discussion I could literally feel the knowledge and love for his system that GM Romo possesses which has now reinvigorated me to pursue his system with diligence and drive. I hope to travel there this October for what I know will be an adventure chalked full of hard training and some laughs....GM Yuli had me laughing during our discussion via phone ...It will be some good times for sure!. Thanks for the time folks...Mabuhay

| Good luck on your training. You will not be disappointed. Up to now, ZBKI has a Florida chapter. Hopefully, with a Texas outpost, Master Yul's skills will get more exposure. |

Good day to all of you brothers in BAHAD ZUBU.
I've seen lots of arnis players here in the philippines and they have
this great things that your mind can think of but when i trained under
the GM Yuli Romo i felt stunned and amazed with his techniques. I can't
sleep during nights specially after my training with him. He showed me
a lots of moves in which some of them i can manage to see what he did
but lots of other techniques he showed keep my mind tumbling and
questioning myself how he did that techniques. Sometimes the techniques
overflowed in my head and i can't think of anything. All i can say is
WOW. I hope i could do that techniques with great speed and precision
like the GM Romo.
To GM Yuli Romo im very honored and greatful to trained under you. With
your jokes and the way you handled me as a student I can't imagine im
still alive. hehehehe.. I'm very overwhelmed and proud to be a part of
BAHAD ZUBU...... |
